Three steps to your best vision with contact lenses.
1. Schedule a contact lens exam.
A contact lens exam goes beyond a standard vision check. We measure your corneal shape and curvature, evaluate your tear film, and assess your overall eye health. Everything needed to match you to the right lens.
2. We find your fit.
Your doctor will recommend a lens type based on your prescription, eye shape, lifestyle, and contact history. Trial lenses go home with you so you can test comfort before we finalize anything. We adjust until it is right.
3. You leave with lenses that work.
Once your fit is confirmed, we walk you through insertion, removal, and care. First-time wearers get hands-on training before they leave the office. Easy online reordering from there whenever you need a refill.
What We Offer
LENS OPTIONS
Whatever your prescription, our optometrists have the training and experience to fit your eyes.
Soft Contact Lenses
Best for most patients, first-time wearers, active lifestyles, straightforward prescriptions. Soft lenses are the most widely worn contact lens type because they are comfortable from day one and easy to adapt to. We fit daily, weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly replacements.
Toric Lenses for Astigmatism
Most patients with astigmatism do well in toric soft lenses. They are designed to stay correctly oriented on the eye so your vision stays sharp and stable through the day. Can be made in multifocal designs if you need astigmatism and presbyopia correction in one lens.
Multifocal and Bifocal Lenses
Best for adults over 40 who want to reduce dependence on reading glasses. Available in soft and RGP materials. Trial lenses available before you commit.
Rigid Gas Permeable (RGP) Lenses
Best for patients with high prescriptions, irregular astigmatism, or keratoconus. Takes a few weeks to adapt but often delivers sharper vision than soft lenses and holds up well over time.
Hybrid Lenses (SynergEyes)
Best for patients who want rigid lens clarity without the adjustment period. A firm center for sharp vision, a soft skirt for comfort. We fit SynergEyes, the only FDA-approved hybrid lens available. Replaced every six months.
Scleral Lenses
Best for dry eye, keratoconus, corneal scarring, or anyone who has been told contacts won't work for them. Large-diameter lenses that vault over the cornea and rest on the sclera, with a fluid reservoir that keeps the eye moist all day. Every lens is custom-made.
Been told contacts won't work for you?
Patients come to us with all kinds of reasons they were told to give up on contacts. Too dry, prescription too high, corneas the wrong shape. Lens technology has changed a lot in the past ten years. There are options now that did not exist when you last tried, including custom scleral lenses for dry eye and keratoconus, and hybrid lenses for patients who want rigid lens clarity without the discomfort. It is worth a second look.

Frequently Asked Questions.
A regular eye exam checks your vision and overall eye health. A contact lens exam goes further. We measure the curvature and shape of your cornea, evaluate your tear film quality, assess how well your eyes tolerate lens wear, and determine the exact fit and prescription your contacts require. Because contact lenses sit directly on the eye, your contact lens prescription may differ from your glasses prescription.
Your initial exam and fitting typically takes 30 - 45 minutes. Specialty lens fittings, scleral, ortho-k, and hard-to-fit cases take longer and often require a follow-up visit to confirm the final prescription. First-time wearers should allow extra time for insertion and removal training before leaving the office. We will not send you home until you feel confident putting them in and taking them out.
Yes, and most patients with astigmatism do well in toric soft lenses. They are comfortable, widely available, and come in daily and monthly options. For irregular astigmatism, including keratoconus or corneas altered by surgery, RGP, hybrid, or scleral lenses often provide better vision. We will evaluate your corneal shape at your exam and recommend the right option.
Scleral lenses are large-diameter rigid gas-permeable lenses that vault over the entire cornea and rest on the sclera. The space fills with saline, creating a constant moisture reservoir. This makes them well-suited for patients with severe dry eye, keratoconus, corneal scarring, high irregular astigmatism, or corneas altered by surgery. Every scleral lens is custom-made and requires a specialized fitting process. Utah Valley Eye Center has been fitting scleral lenses for many years.
That pattern is myopia progression, and there are proven contact lens treatments to slow it down. We offer MiSight daily disposables and ortho-k lenses through our myopia management program, led by Dr. David Jones. The best time to start is early. Schedule an evaluation and we will tell you whether your child is a good candidate.
We use Dr. Contact Lens for online ordering. Once you have an active prescription on file, we send you an invite link. After that you can order whenever you need without calling the office.
Probably yes. Lens materials, designs, and fitting technology have improved significantly over the past decade. Patients who have failed with contacts due to discomfort, dry eye, or difficult prescriptions often find success with current options. Book an exam and let us take a fresh look. We will be honest about what we think is possible.
It depends on whether a contact lens evaluation was included. A comprehensive eye exam covers your vision and eye health, but contact lens-specific measurements are not always included. If you are a new contact lens patient or need a fitting update, your doctor will add a contact lens evaluation. Call us and we can check what is on file.
